Project Overview: Jeremy from DB Bookbinding approached us with a clear vision: capture the essence of his thesis binding process with a focus on old-school craftsmanship and professional expertise. Our task was to show the meticulous handwork and attention to detail that makes his services truly stand out.
The entire process was incredible to film. We wanted to create a sense of wow and awe by making the thesis binding process look cinematic and epic. We achieved this by shooting in a dimly lit room, focusing the light on Jeremy’s hands as he worked his magic. The dark setting brought an intimate feel to the video, and we used slow-motion shots, handheld techniques, and gimbals to elevate the action. It was truly a pleasure to capture every step of the process in his fully equipped factory, from sewing the pages to stamping the final touches on the cover.
Jeremy gave us full creative freedom, and we took the time to perfect each shot—sometimes filming the same scene over and over to get it just right. His passion for craftsmanship shone through in every moment, and the final result was a visually captivating video that felt both professional and personal.
Jeremy was absolutely blown away by the final product. The video exceeded his expectations, and it’s now playing a key role in expanding awareness of DB Bookbinding’s services. We’re also using it in ads across the US and internationally, continuing to showcase the artistry of DB Bookbinding to a global audience.
